Taking influence from Eastern and Western techniques, each session is custom-tailored to the individual client. Your session is about the massage you would like to receive, not just the massage a therapist wants to give. We will communicate fully about your body, and the expectations and goals for the work you are receiving. Modalities to be drawn from include traditional Swedish, Shiatsu, Myofascial Release, Neuro-Muscular Therapy, Reiki, Sports Massage, Reflexology, Deep Tissue, Pregnancy Massage, and Aromatherapy.
Whether you are coming in for stress relief and relaxation, or to deal with specific pain or injury, I will strive to give you the best possible result during your session, and hope that you will consider adding regular massage therapy to your life.
I was drawn to the practice of massage therapy through a passion for holistic living, nutrition, and complimentary medicine. I attended the Finger Lakes School of Massage in Ithaca NY in 2002, and became a licensed massage therapist in the state of NY in 2003.
I have also studied Shiatsu at the Ohashi Institute, Healing with Whole Foods and Chinese Herbs at the Open Center in New York City, and was attuned to the Usui System of Reiki. I have recently completed an herbalism apprenticeship at the Heartstone School at the Center for Earth Essentials in Van Etten NY, and look forward to adding herbal remedies and treatments to my practice.
After several years in the spa industry, I chose to open my own studio where each client's health and goals can be catered to individually. I've chosen to move away from the "assembly-line" atmosphere of the spa setting, in hopes of making profound impacts on the continued health and well-being of my clients. I revel in both the science and the energy of all forms of bodywork. I view each massage session as a healing experience, for the client and myself, and remain firmly committed to the path of learning and expanding within this beautiful art.
I am looking forward to adding herbal medicine to my practice of healing modalities this year. Consultations, herbal treatments, and hand-crafted herbal remedies will be available in an effort to help clients reach their optimal state of health and wellbeing.
Because I feel clients benefit most from regular massage treatments, I offer package discounts in hopes that more people will be able to fit massage into their lives.

From Yahoo! Local:
I received my very first massage a few months ago from Vanessa which was a gift from my trainer. What a wonderful experience it was. She talked me thru the whole thing and I was nervous! but it was so amazing. I've been back three times since then and my whole body feels different. My training sessions and runs are more intense and I can't believe I wasn't getting massages all along. Definitely committing to seeing Vanessa on a regular basis. She's great.
I've been seeing Vanessa for years and I can truly say that she offers specialized sessions. It's so different from the massages I've received at spas or other places I've been. I don't think I knew what real massage was until I started seeing her. Great deep tissue work, she keeps these old bones in motion. She really cares and it shows. I'll never go to another massage therapist!
From insiderpages.com:
Best therapist in Middletown area. She listens and cares, very reasonable rates, always flexible with appointments and hours and does very very good work. I'm a massage junkie and I've been all over town over the years. finally found the right one, thank God! Glad to see her out on her own and being successful because she's a rare talent. It really matters when someone loves what they do especially with massage therapists I think. Vanessa is someone who clearly loves what she does and it shows. I'm very proud of her and happy to be able to support small independent business!
From yelp.com:
